Project Overview
GPH Ispat Limited, one of the leading integrated steel manufacturing companies in Bangladesh proposed a project of 13.88 MW rooftop and floating solar PV systems on the premises of GPH Ispat Ltd. Approximately 3.88 MW is to be installed on the rooftops of the GPH Ispat Ltd.’s factory roof and approximately 10 MW is to be installed on an artificial lake situated on eastern boundary of the factory along with the hills’ landings in its surroundings.
This report presents the finding of an Environmental and social Impact Assessment (ESIA) of the project namely “13.88 MW Rooftop and Floating Solar PV Systems on the Premises of GPH ISPAT Limited”. The main purpose of the ESIA study is to identify, evaluate and manage environmental and social impacts that may arise due to implementation and operation of the project
Project Focus: Environmental Impact Mitigation, and Project Funding through IDCOL
The site visit for the ESIA study has been undertaken to assess any potential impacts (both negative and positive) that may arise from the construction, operation, and decommissioning of the rooftop and floating solar plant. The goal of the ESIA is to enhance the sustainability of vital ecosystems and to improve or restore ecosystem health and biodiversity.
Methodology
